Herzlich willkommen!
Seit vielen Jahren bewege ich mich zwischen Medienpraxis, Wissenschaft und Beratung. Heute bin ich Professorin für Medien- und Kulturmanagement an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater (HfMT) Hamburg und forsche und lehre dort zu Führung und organisationaler Resilienz.
Als Coach, Beraterin und Therapeutin begleite ich Einzelpersonen, Teams und häufig Führungskräfte in Situationen hoher Komplexität und unter großem Druck.
Zuvor habe ich als Journalistin und Medienmanagerin bei SPIEGEL ONLINE und dem SPIEGEL gearbeitet – als Redakteurin, Reporterin, Ressortleiterin und Chefredakteurin. Für meine Arbeit wurde ich mehrfach ausgezeichnet, unter anderem als „Chefredakteurin des Jahres“.
An der HfMT Hamburg leite ich ein Kompetenzzentrum für Resilienz im Journalismus und in Medienorganisationen: das Mindful Media Lab.
Vertrauen bildet die Klammer meiner praktischen und wissenschaftlichen Arbeit – und war auch das Thema meiner Promotion. Mich interessiert, wie Vertrauen entsteht, wie es verloren geht – und was Menschen und Organisationen brauchen, um es wieder aufzubauen.

I am very pleased to be working as a professor for Media and Cultural Management at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre in the future. As a journalist, I worked for many years at SPIEGEL ONLINE and DER SPIEGEL: as editor, reporter, head of department and editor-in-chief. I have been rewarded as “Editor-in-Chief of the Year”. As a coach and consultant, I work with individuals and teams. This often involves personal and strategic development, conflict resolution and the digital transformation of organisations.
I have worked as a researcher at the universities of Münster, Hamburg, Sussex and at Columbia University, New York, and completed my doctorate with a multidisciplinary thesis on trust. Trust has been the focus of my scientific research for about 20 years and it forms the bracket of my academic and practical work: trust as a prerequisite for successful leadership and the basis of an innovative corporate culture. As a communication scientist, I deal with political communication, the (re)gaining and loss of trust. Because trust is a prerequisite for all successful communication. I have been involved with the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism (NY) for many years and have been Director of the Dart Center Europe since 2021.
